Let’s do this!

I believe in integration and action. Integration involves seeing, understanding, and bringing into healthy relationship the different parts of ourselves - our history and aspirations, fear and confidence, maturity and playfulness, control and acceptance. From a place of greater integration, we can better design goals that speak to our values, and action steps that are doable and rewarding.

In my own journey, I've integrated Jewish heritage, 25+ years of Buddhist practice, and a career in chaplaincy mostly serving Christians. In action this has looked like being one of the first Buddhists in the U.S. to 1) become board certified as a chaplain, and 2) direct centers for religious and spiritual life on college campuses. I integrated a love for dance, spiritual practice, and ritual into the creation and facilitation of 3 ongoing ecstatic dances in the Boston area between 2006 and 2018, and integrated my experience of dance as Buddhist practice with my academic curiosity by editing and publishing an anthology on Western Buddhist dance.

More personally, my wife and I integrated 5 years of unexplained infertility, miscarraiges, and a stillbirth with prayer and grief practices - not just to cope, but to find and share value-based actions that restored agency, meaning, and hope. Happily, we now have two young boys at home!

Across my work as an interfaith chaplain in medical, psychiatric, and college settings, I've realized my greatest gifts and satisfaction come through deep, transformational one on one support. I'm excited and proud to bring this into the world as a Life and Death Coach, and would love to work with you!
